about
Where I’m @ is out today! I wrote this song about love, growth, and the willingness to accept change. It’s a really special one to me because It touches on how important it is to hold a willingness to listen and try to meet the other’s needs in any relationship, and I think one of the greatest gifts someone can give you is seeing and working with you as you are. It’s a personal story about a relationship that taught me a lot about myself – and ultimately the hardest lesson I was faced with as that relationship ended was to be alright being on my own rather than seeking solace in someone else. I was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s honest vulnerability in his music and the hopeful joyous feeling of true acceptance I felt in that relationship and am still working to feel toward myself. -Ted
lyrics
You know I see it
When you meet me where I am
Sometimes I don’t get it
And then you help me understand
I’m still learning how to be who I am
To escape from all the fear and violence
And I hope that you can see I’m trying
I don’t want you to leave, so I’ll make you believe
So we start our new chapter
And we make our mistakes
But it doesn’t matter
I know we’ll be ok
We’re closer until we fall apart
Then it’s over ’til we find a new start
Somehow I always end up in your arms
And this time that’s where I want to stay
Stuck in my head so I lay in my bed and think about it
I’m in demand until I’m in your hand and then you doubt it
Maybe it’s just how the story goes
Even the good ones have to close
I would be fine living out on my own
If only I could just be alone
It’s where I’m at
You know I see it
When you meet me where I am
Sometimes I don’t get it
Can you help me understand?
