BACKGROUND:
In Dec 2021 we flew to Austin to record a track with The Song Confessional who gave us a hotel and a selection of stories from people who came to confess their sins, desires, confusions and much much more. We picked a confession and made it into a song over the course of 3 days. The entire track ended up being recorded from our hotel room after we had to cancel our studio time and live performance because of a Covid exposure. Ted had a mysterious fever but somehow managed to write lyrics and a melody in a day and then passed it to me (Adam) to flush out the instrumentals and production. It was a blurry ride fueled by constant room service and random scooter rides in the middle of the night. We called it ‘Trippy Luv’ because the story we based it on is a real fear and loathing style bender following a couple who knows how to have a good time and doesn’t mind sharing their fun or their love.
